I Am blessed. Point blank. All that I ever needed has already been givien to me by my Dad in Heaven, Baruch Atah Hashem Adonai!
This Blog is a myriad of my thoughts and life's experiences. This is posting freedom to me. The subjects vary and I like it that way.
What is prayer? I've heard many people say that they are not really sure how to pray. They've seen people who seem to be professional “pray-ers” and it intimidates them. The body of Christ does not need to have someone who prays long and hard, it only helps to release the spirit of intimidation upon us. I once heard someone say, “God is not deaf.” And if He lives inside of us, why scream? We are to scream at the devil not God. Amen?
Prayer is actually praise. It is also giving God thanks and loving God for Who He is. Most of the time that you see the word "incense" in the Old Testament, it is referring to prayer in our modern day Christian time. Prayer is a devout request or petition to a deity. It is the act of offering devout petitions, expressions of adorations especially to God.
Prayer is spiritual communion with God and awareness of His presence as in Confession, Adoration, Thankfulness, Prayer and Intercession. The anagram that we can use to remember those words are CATPI (long 'I' sound). I actually made that up when I was teaching the 9-12 year olds at Shiloh Bible Institute in the 90’s. The kids still remember it. Notice the long “I” as not to be associated with a feline as one of the kids suggested in class one day making the entire class laugh. Oh, the good times. Even God laughs.
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
Prayer is communion which is "koinonia" in Greek. Communion brings us to a 'common-union' with God. Prayer is your God language, your communication which brings you into a oneness with God, a 'union' with Him. Use it daily. The bible tells us to pray always. I believe that means to think of the Lord as much as possible. I pray in increments. God hears from me all day. I always think of how the character that Matthew Brodderick played in the movie “Lady Hawk” prayed. He was a little thief but he prayed to God all day. There was a lesson about prayer in that movie to me. The character talked to God as though He was his best friend. His actions weren’t the greatest but his prayer life....was. #Grace#Mercy
The Word says, “Little foxes spoil the vine” and I believe that “little prayers spoil the wiles of the enemy.” In our Prayer Group, we can accomplish ANYTHING through prayer in Jesus Christ’s name because we are covered by His Blood. We are not “Beggars,” we are a “Praying People.” With Jehovah Jireh as our Provider, we need not beg, amen? We have outstanding members from other ministries who took out their time to join us out of love and for that, I am thankful.
